MAIUM SS26 launches in February. The collection is called Here Comes the Sun. We’re based in Amsterdam, so that title isn’t a promise. It’s a feeling.

It’s about the return of light and how it transforms the city. The days seem to last a little longer. Colors appear more vivid. People move differently. The weather still changes without warning, but you start dressing more comfortably.

That’s where SS26 comes in. Not in the height of summer, but in that in-between season when you want outerwear that feels lighter on the body, yet still gets the job done when the weather takes a turn.

A more understated design language, with the technical elements seamlessly integrated

For SS26, we kept the collection understated on purpose. The design language is calm, fluid, and modular. The technical elements are integrated into the pieces, rather than added as a statement.

You’ll see it in the construction. Seam taping, waterproof zippers, hidden closures. They blend seamlessly into the silhouette, because they’re there to enhance the garment’s fit, not to distract from it. Reflective details have been improved as well, because while the light returns, the city still bustles during the early mornings and late evenings.

Across all jackets, the waterproof rating remains at 10,000 mm. Protection remains consistent. The change this season is in how it feels.

MAIUM SS26 Here Comes the Sun

Designed for mild to warm weather, built for layering

The SS26 is designed for activity in milder temperatures and for layering when the day starts out cold and ends up warm. It is technical outerwear that remains breathable and comfortable across a wide range of spring and summer conditions, without compromising the structure that makes it reliable.

We also further refined our signature waterproof fabric, focusing on durability and longevity while ensuring it remains soft to the touch and allows for fluid movement. The goal is simple: pieces that stand the test of time and remain comfortable to wear.

The silhouettes we return to, refined once more

SS26 is inspired by the silhouettes that define MAIUM’s collection. The Original, the Poncho, the Mac and Trench, the Anorak, and the Balmacaan.

We return to these silhouettes because they work. Refinement matters more than flashiness. The collection is designed to be a staple in a wardrobe, not just a feature in a campaign.

Color, guided by light

The palette reflects the emotional spectrum of sunlight, transitioning from softer tones to deeper, warmer shades. Persian blue, amber sun, rustic cedar.

We wanted colors that feel like light rather than mere decoration. Something that enhances an outfit but remains wearable, season after season.

Longevity is the point, not the headline

We focus on durability, construction, and product lifespan. SS26 continues this approach, prioritizing pieces that remain in rotation over trends that are only popular for a season.

"Here Comes the Sun" is a collection inspired by the return of light, yet designed for real-world weather conditions. Amsterdam doesn’t change its nature. We just get better at adapting to it.

Quick questions

Is the MAIUM SS26 waterproof?
Yes. The collection is designed to withstand real rain, with a 10,000mm waterproof rating across the entire range.

What does "10,000mm waterproof" mean in real life?
It is a measure of how much water pressure a fabric can withstand before it starts letting water through. In practice, it falls into the "proper rain" category for everyday wear.

What makes MAIUM outerwear “technical”?
It all comes down to construction and finishing, not just the fabric. Think waterproof materials, taped seams, waterproof zippers, and closures designed to keep the elements out while remaining comfortable to wear.

Is it also suitable for warmer weather?
Yes. SS26 is designed for mild to warmer conditions, and for layering as temperatures fluctuate throughout the day.

Which jacket should I start with?
If you're looking for an everyday staple, start with a style that suits your lifestyle. A longer coat (e.g., Original, Lightweight Parka, and Poncho) tends to offer more protection against wind and rain, while shorter styles (e.g., Anorak and Mac Short) are easier to layer. The best way to decide quickly is to consider the length and the fit you prefer.

Is the collection suitable for cycling and commuting?
Yes. MAIUM is designed with urban mobility in mind.

How do I care for MAIUM rainwear?
Check the washing instructions on the product page for your specific style, as care instructions may vary depending on the fabric and padding. In general, MAIUM raincoats should be washed on a gentle or delicate cycle at a maximum of 30°C, with the zippers closed and without fabric softener. Air dry only (do not tumble dry); hang it on a hanger to maintain its shape, and if needed, you can gently apply heat to help reactivate the water-repellent finish.

What is MAIUM's approach to sustainability?
We prioritize longevity above all else: durable construction and pieces designed to remain in your wardrobe for years to come. We use recycled materials whenever possible, including recycled polyester made from PET bottles (RPET) and recycled nylon, and more than 90% of the materials in our jackets come from sustainable sources. For example, the Original is made from 66 recycled PET bottles, the Mac starting at 99, and the Trench from 111.
