Our mission at MAIUM is to get people out of their cars and onto their bikes because it's better for their health and well-being, our planet and society. With rain falling 130 days a year and more bikes than people in Amsterdam, we at MAIUM are constantly trying to create rainwear that will keep you dry during your daily commute. In 2022, RethinkRebel concluded in their research that 75% of our manufacturing partners are BSCI members to ensure fair, safe and healthy working conditions. To ensure that activities in the supply chain are conducted in an ethical, traceable and transparent manner, MAIUM has adopted the OECD due diligence methodology and supports the International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions. By the end of 2023, MAIUM will have its own Code of Conduct (COC) that will be signed by all suppliers.

Specific issues we want to address in our COC include: discrimination and gender, child labor, forced labor, freedom of association, wages, occupational health and safety, raw materials, water pollution and use of chemicals, water and energy, animal welfare, working hours, ethical trade, sexual harassment and grievance mechanisms.

In 2022, we conducted an independent risk assessment of our current supply chain, analyzing all ESG (environmental, social and governance) topics. Based on this study, we are going to focus on improving the topics of "fair remuneration" and "protection of the environment.

In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), MAIUM implements methods aimed at achieving inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all (Goal 8). MAIUM ensures healthy lives and promotes well-being for all ages (Goal 3). And ensures that cities and settlements are inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable (Goal 11).
