Health, Well-Being, and Physical Activity
Our mission at MAIUM is to get people out of their cars and onto their bikes, because that’s better for their health and well-being, for our planet, and for society. With 130 rainy days a year and more bikes than people in Amsterdam, we’re constantly working on rainwear that keeps people dry during their daily rides.

Health and safety are also important to the people behind our products. We want to create a fair work environment that promotes diversity and inclusion for everyone in our supply chain. At MAIUM, we are committed to the well-being of our employees and partners. Safe and Responsible Supply Chains
In 2022, a study by RethinkRebels concluded that 75% of our manufacturing partners were members of BSCI, which contributes to fair, safe, and healthy working conditions. To ensure that activities within the supply chain are conducted in an ethical, traceable, and transparent manner, we follow the OECD’s due diligence methodology and support the conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO). By the end of 2026, our own Code of Conduct (COC) is expected to have been signed by all of our suppliers.
What Our Code of Conduct Covers
The topics we intend to address in our Code of Conduct include discrimination and gender, child labor, forced labor, freedom of association, wages, occupational health and safety, raw materials, water pollution and the use of chemicals, water and energy, animal welfare, working hours, ethical trade, sexual harassment, and grievance mechanisms.
Risk Analysis and Areas for Improvement
In 2022, we also conducted an independent risk analysis of our current supply chain with regard to ESG issues: environmental, social, and governance. Based on that analysis, we identified traceability and certification as the key areas for further improvement.
Health, Safety, and the SDGs
This approach is also aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Through our methods and priorities, we aim to contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment, and decent work for all under Goal 8; good health and well-being for all ages under Goal 3; and inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities and communities under Goal 11.
